Unveiled during SHOT Show, the announcement by Palmetto State Armory that they would launch a version of their Sabre carbine in 6 ARC, coincided with Magpul’s release of a 28 rd magazine dedicated to that caliber.
The 6 ARC Sabre will be out this fall and features an E4 bolt, Newly Designed MLOK Handguard, and will come in 14.5″, 16″ or 18″ Stainless Steel barrel versions.
SSD,
To clarify, is the PSA 6ARC carbine compatible with the Magpul 6ARC mags (ie the enlarged Six8 spec lower receiver)?
Yes
They are also making a Honey Badger competitor in 338ARC using the same receiver and Magpul ICAR magazines.
Just picture this, but a hell of a lot smaller.
So excited for this. I was going to make the first orders to build a 6ARC rifle today starting from a 16” bead-blasted SS barrel. So awesome to see that Palmetto is taking the same accuracy-forward approach. And, with the new handguard, it looks like the silly “Sabre lockup” rail which makes barrel changes annoying will also potentially be going away. Of course, this is a new bolt face/barrel extension pattern so I can’t just swap it for any old barrel at this point, but my hope is they leave the door open for others to follow the same general pattern and start producing really accurate barrels for this weapon. If any weapon is a modern-day sword, a 14.5–16” AR-pattern 6ARC would be it. God bless you, Palmetto.
